Ochlockonee River State Park

The Ochlockonee River State Park is a perfect place to camp out or take an easy day hike. Nature trails that wind along the river and through pine flatwoods and oak thickets allow hikers to explore the park and see a diversity of wildlife especially in the early morning. The natural communities are home for deer, fox squirrel, bobcat, gray fox, and many species of birds including the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. Wildflowers bloom in abundance during the spring and fall.  Check the website for ranger-guided walks and campfire programs.
