Join us as we celebrate the area's wildlife at our annual Wakulla Wildlife Festival on Saturday, April 15th at Wakulla Springs State Park. We take great pride in this event that features art from local students, exciting tours, live music, plenty of children's activities, and so much more! We've got fun for the entire family at this event, so load up the car and come on down for a day of fun and celebration.

Event Details

The Wakulla Wildlife Festival takes place at Wakulla Springs State Park, with activities taking place specifically in the Dogwood Pavilion and The Green picnic area. As part of this festival, we offer a number of popular tours that you'll want to experience for yourself! Check out, for example, our Nature Photography Boat Tour, where you'll enjoy amazing views and photo opportunities as you glide down the Wakulla River with our tour leader, naturalist, and photographer Doug Alderson.

See local wildlife up close and personal with our popular Neo-Tropical Birding Tour, a three-hour trip along the park's untouched sanctuary along River Road. Space for this tour is limited, so be sure to sign up early!

In addition to the numerous tour options we have available, there will also be plenty of on-site exhibitors with presentations from:

  • Operation Migration
  • St. Francis Wildlife Association
  • The Tallahassee Museum
  • Defenders of Wildlife
  • ...and many more!

And of course, what festival would be complete without delicious food? We'll have a number of options to choose from, including light snacks at The Soda Fountain and full meals at the Dining Room of the Wakulla Springs Lodge. We do recommend that you make reservations at the front desk if you plan on dining at the Wakulla Springs Lodge, as seating can fill up quickly.

Something For Everyone

Planning on bringing children along? We've got plenty of fun and educational activities for the littles one to partake in. One of our more popular children's events is the Wakulla Springs Puppet Parade, which takes place in the Kid's Activities Tent and features larger-than-life puppets to teach your child about the diverse wildlife found around the local ecosystem.

Your child will also have the opportunity to create and color their very own animal masks, play games, win prizes, and see for themselves some of the amazing animals that call the local area home.
