Wild About Wakulla Week

04/12/2015 - 04/17/2015 All Day

Wild About Wakulla Week

The 2015 Wild About Wakulla Week is all about connecting you with the events, aesthetics (things like music, art, crafts, specialized industries, food, and more), and people that give Wakulla County its unique geographical character.
Although most of the activities and businesses are available throughout the year, Wild About Wakulla Week seeks to showcase them for residents and visitors alike. Sopchoppy’s historic train depot, Panacea’s iconic Gulf Specimen Marine Lab, or the old port city of St. Marks with its quaint atmosphere and ancient Spanish fort ruins are spots not to be missed.
The St. Mark’s Wildlife Refuge, Ochlockonee River State Park, and Wakulla Springs State Park provide birders the opportunity to check off rare species from their life lists, outdoor enthusiasts opportunities to hike, bike, or camp, and kayakers the solace of pristine coastal waters to explore.
Local businesses are happy to assist with planning, equipment, and the execution of your outdoor adventure. As you experience the many nature-based tours on our rivers, bays, springs and forests, you will long remember the solitude and peacefulness of our 100 percent natural environment.
